miniml.font.guide

This is a guide in how to use the font you have downloaded for it's intended use.
This font is free to use, distribute, copy, etc. as long as it remains unaltered and,
when appropriate, proper credit is given. This font was especially designed to remain
crisp (aliased) in Flash. However, it works in other applications as well. The price for
crispness is that you must follow the guidelines included here. If you do not, this font
will anti-alias like any other font and look unsuitable.

1. This font must be used at the point size 8 for optimal results.

2. The font must be placed on a whole pixel (14.7 is no good. It must be 14.0 or 15.0).
Use the info panel in Flash to determine it's x and y position and to set the area of
registration. In Flash, the font must be placed on a whole pixel throughout the chain
of movieclip hierarchy.

3. You may use tracking if the application uses whole pixel values (Such as Flash).
If this is not possible, I have made versions of the font with different spacings between
the characters for your convenience. (Especially useful when using the font as dynamic
or input text.)

4. Embed the font when using it as dynamic or input text. (Static text is automatically included.)

5. Preview the movie in the Flash player. Otherwise the font will appear anti-aliased.

To access special characters use the Character Map program found in the Accessories folder.
Select and then copy the character in the Character Map. In Flash, use the Paste Special option
under the Edit column. Then select the font you want to use.

Below is the explanation behind my numbering system (based loosely on Frutiger's Univers grid):

The first two numbers correspond to the font height in pixels. A font such as standard 07 would
be seven pixels high. Standard 09 would be nine pixels high. This is useful in determining the size
between fonts. Regardless of this number, the font needs to be set at 8 points.

The third digit corresponds to the typeface overall weight as follows:

4-Light
5-Regular
6-Bold

The fourth digit corresponds to the typeface style as follows:

3-Expanded
4-Expanded, More Letterspacing
5-Regular
6-Regular, More Letterspacing
7-Condensed
8-Condensed, More Letterspacing

X-Expert Set

Thank you for using this font.
